Here, the reasons for disaffection are both national and local. Ratni Bai, 43, from Rahaud village under the Pamgarh constituency in Janjgir Champa district, was one of the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala Yojana, but says the rising price of gas has meant that she might return to the chulha.
