"Satyapareshanhosaktahain, lekin parajit nahin (truth can be troubled, but never defeated)," Bhujbal said. The minister met NCP president Sharad Pawar and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and thanked them for their support and for giving him the post of cabinet minister in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government despite the case against him. "I express my thanks to Sharad Pawar and all party colleagues for their support. I also thank CM Uddhav Thackeray, who was confident that I would the Bhujbal family. Bhujbal in his discharge plea filed earlier this year through lawyers Sajal Yadav and Sudarshan Khawase had submitted that there was no evidenceof anyirregularitiesorcorruption by him as the then deputy chief minister and PWD minister. On Wednesday, Pankaj and Sameer were discharged from another case of cheating in connection with a development project in Raigad in 2015. After his discharge from this case, Bhujbal continues to face criminal charges in a case connectedtotheconstructionof alibrary in Kalina and offences registered by the ED based on cases by the ACB. Discharge applications are pending hearing in the other cases as well. A case was filed in 2015 against Bhujbal and 16 others by the ACB after a Public Interest LitigationwasfiledintheBombay High Court seeking an inquiry into alleged irregularities in awarding of contracts of over Rs 100 crore for three projects in 2006whenBhujbalwasthestate PWD minister. The RBI, he said, is “very serious about anchoring inflation expectations and inflation around the target” of 4 per cent. Sticking to the 9.5 per cent growth projection for 2021-22, he said there was no evidence thatassetprices,andtosomeextent the current high stock prices,wereinfluencedbyexcess liquidity. The RBI was watching growth impulses and inflation before making changes in its accommodative policy stance, he said.
